Clickk needs Input Monitoring to hear your keystrokes, which is a serious thing to ask for. So here is exactly what it does with it. It reads which physical key moved, and nothing else. Not the character, not the app you are in. Nothing is stored, nothing leaves your Mac, and there is no analytics of any kind.
Typing speed comes from the timing between keys. Accuracy comes from how often you reach for backspace. Characters are never read — not anywhere in the app, not for any feature.

Before you ask.
Does it work in every app?
Yes. Clickk listens at the system level, so it sounds the same whether you are in a terminal, a browser, Figma, or Mail. There is no per app setup.
Where does it live once installed?
In the menu bar only. There is no dock icon and no window sitting in your way. Clicking the menu bar icon changes kit, volume, and everything else in one place.
Why does it need Input Monitoring?
Input Monitoring is the macOS permission for knowing that a key was pressed. It is deliberately not Accessibility, which exists so assistive software can control your Mac and is far broader than this app needs. Clickk learns that a key moved, plays a sample, and discards it. Nothing is written to disk and nothing leaves your Mac.
Does it record or send what I type?
No. There is no logging, no file of keystrokes, no network code for telemetry, and no analytics SDK of any kind. The app works exactly the same with the network turned off.
Will it drain my battery or slow things down?
No. Samples are decoded once into memory and played through the system audio engine, so a keystroke costs almost nothing. Between keystrokes the app does no work at all.
Will people on my calls hear it?
Not if you leave Sleep switched on. Clickk mutes itself the moment another app takes your microphone or camera, and comes back when the call ends.
Can I use my own sounds?
In two ways. Sound Studio builds a switch from scratch by shaping the click, the body, and the tail, and you can import a folder of your own recordings as a kit.
Is there a free trial?
