Privacy policy

Clickk collects nothing about you. There is no account, no analytics, no crash reporter, and no network code for sending anything anywhere. What follows is the long version of that sentence.

What Clickk can see

To play a sound at the moment you press a key, Clickk asks macOS for Accessibility access. macOS treats tell me when a key moves and tell me what was typed as the same permission, so there is no narrower one to request. Clickk uses it in the narrowest possible way. It reads the key code, which is the physical position of the key, decides which sample to play, and discards it. It does not read the character, the contents of any field, or which app you are using.

Key codes are never written to disk, never buffered into a history, and never transmitted. Turn off your network and Clickk behaves identically, which is the easiest way to confirm all of this for yourself.

What is stored on your Mac

Everything Clickk saves stays on your Mac, in your own user library:

• Your preferences, such as the selected kit, volume, and theme.
• Kits you create or import, and any per kit tuning you set in the voicing pad.
• Typing statistics, meaning counts and timings. Speed comes from the interval between keystrokes and accuracy from how often backspace is used. Neither is derived from the characters themselves.

Deleting the app removes it. To clear the preferences as well, remove Clickk from your Applications folder and then revoke it in System Settings, Privacy and Security, Accessibility.

What Clickk sends

Nothing. There are no requests to any server, first party or third party. No advertising identifiers, no fingerprinting, no telemetry, no feature flags fetched at launch, and no embedded software development kits from other companies.

What Apple sees

Clickk is sold through the Mac App Store, so your purchase is handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy, not by us. We never see your payment details or your Apple Account. If you have agreed to share diagnostics with developers, Apple may show us anonymous aggregate reports about crashes and downloads. That data comes from Apple, is not linked to you, and cannot be traced back to an individual.

This website

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. The keyboard demo plays audio files served from this domain and stores nothing in your browser. Like any website, the host that serves it keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for a short period for security and abuse prevention.

Children

Clickk is suitable for all ages and does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Rules such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing to retrieve or erase. If you would like that confirmed in writing, ask and it will be sent.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a future version of Clickk ever needed to send something somewhere, it would be opt in, described here first, and announced in the app before it happened.
